Check out This Blog: Boutelle Family Zoo for a chance to do so!

She's got some amazing inspirations on her blog!

"Or as we used to call it, arts and farts and crafts..."

Today I decided to make some decorations for my massage therapy room! I'm very happy with how they turned out. I started with:

4 unfinished 5x5 wood squares

3 sheets of scrapbooking paper

A jar of Mod Podge, and a jar of Espresso Bean acrylic paint.

First I painted the wood squares. Then I cut out squares from the scrapbooking paper to fit on the wood squares. I Mod Podged the papers in place, and came up with this:
Cost Wrap-Up:
4 5x5 Wood Squares : $2.80
One Jar of Acrylic Paint: $0.67
Scrapbooking Paper (3 Sheets) : $0.87
Total Project Cost = $4.34 (before sales tax of course)

Now to hang them on the wall :)

Founders Days has a great fireworks show the last weekend in July each year :) Which means tonight! I can't wait. A big group of friends and family go to DH's parents house for a front row view.

Recipe Success

So yesterday a small group of my friends came over (One of them brought us the entire video of our wedding!) just to hang out. I decided to cook dinner, and it came out fantastic. I have now passed the recipe onto them, so I figured I would share it here. I'm not sure where I got it from, but it's a very good recipe! (If it is yours, let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!)

Broccoli Cheddar Quiche

Ingredients:

1 deep dish frozen pie shell (not pre-bake kind)

3 eggs

1 cup plus one handful extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup milk

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Half bag of frozen broccoli or 1 large head of broccoli

1 half red onion, diced

2 tablespoons self-rising flour

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Cook broccoli and onion in a pot of boiling water until tender. Drain, dice and set aside. In the pie shell, layer cheese on bottom. Add a layer of broccoli and onion and alternate layers of cheese and broccoli and onion mixture until the shell is full.

In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, butter, milk, salt, pepper, handful of cheese and flour. Pour over top of quiche.

Bake for 35-45 minutes until center is cooked and the top is golden brown.

One Of My 2007 Art Show Pieces

My First Blog

I've never had a blog before! Now that wedding planning is over, I figured I needed to find something else to try my hand at! I'm sure I'll catch on to it...eventually :)

I am a 26 year old newlywed. I was married on July 10th of this year. We are living in my mother's old ranch style house on a rent-to-own option, trying to fix it up. We adopted our first puppy in April. He is a yellow lab/white shepherd mix, and is approximately 10 months old now. I discovered a recent love of cooking and crafting this year, and love photography. So basically, this blog will be a big cluster of everything from recipes to photos and so on and so forth.
